Composition Competition

The Chester County Concert Band's composition competition is aimed at encouraging young musicians in our area to consider creating new, quality music for large concert bands/ensembles. Current college and university music students in the Delaware Valley/Greater Philadelphia region are eligible to apply. As a non-profit music-performing organization centered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, we are interested in offering students an avenue for them to create, and have performed, music for large ensembles.

The 2026 winner of the composition competition is Michael Pogudin, a student from Temple University. Congratulations! His composition, "The Carnival of Specters," was premiered at our Spring Concert, April 26, 2026.
