Composition Competition

The Chester County Concert Band's composition competition is aimed at encouraging young musicians in our area to consider creating new, quality music for large concert bands/ensembles. Current college and university music students in the Delaware Valley/Greater Philadelphia region are eligible to apply. As a non-profit music-performing organization centered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, we are interested in offering students an avenue for them to create, and have performed, music for large ensembles.

Liam Boorse, 2025

The 2025 winner of the composition competition is Liam Boorse, a music composition major at Temple University. Congratulations! His composition, "Across the Seven Seas," was premiered at our Spring Concert, May 4, 2025.
