Composition Competition

The Chester County Concert Band's composition competition is aimed at encouraging young musicians in our area to consider creating new, quality music for large concert bands/ensembles. Current college and university music students in the Delaware Valley/Greater Philadelphia region are eligible to apply. As a non-profit music-performing organization centered in West Chester, Pennsylvania, we are interested in offering students an avenue for them to create, and have performed, music for large ensembles.

Dominick DeStefano, 2024

The 2024 winner of the composition competition is Dominick DeStefano, a composer, musician, and educator pursuing his music degree in Composition at West Chester University.  Congratulations! His composition, "Celebratory Overture" was premiered at our Spring Concert, May 5, 2024.
